StatementCheap

Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-10-29

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using StatementCheap. We have tried to keep them short and in plain English. Please read them, because by using the site you agree to them.

1. Who we are

StatementCheap is operated by Creative Current LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company in the United States ("we", "us", "our"). "You" means the person using the service, or the business you use it for. If you use StatementCheap on behalf of a business, you confirm that you can accept these terms for that business.

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account or buy a plan.

2. What the service does

StatementCheap converts PDF bank and credit card statements into spreadsheet and accounting formats: Excel (XLSX), CSV, QuickBooks (QBO and 3-column CSV), Xero CSV and OFX/QFX. We use AI to read the statement, then check the result against the balances printed on the statement and flag rows that don't add up.

We do not connect to your bank, move money, give advice, or keep copies of your statements. Our contact form is the way to reach us about anything in these terms.

3. Accounts and login codes

  • You sign in with your email address. We send a one-time login code to that address each time you sign in.
  • Keep access to your email account secure. Anyone who can read your email can sign in to your StatementCheap account.
  • Give us an email address you control and keep it up to date, since receipts and account notices go there.
  • One person per account. Don't share an account to get around plan limits.

4. Free pages

Anyone can convert 5 pages per day for free, without signing up. We count free pages with a cookie stored on your device. If a statement is longer than your remaining free pages, we convert the pages your allowance covers and tell you how many were left out.

The free allowance is for genuine, light use. We may limit, pause or block free use when we see abuse, such as automated uploads or repeated attempts to reset the allowance.

5. Plans, billing and renewals

Prices

Current prices are listed on our pricing page and are in US dollars. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Page packs

A page pack is a one-time purchase of a set number of pages. Pack pages do not expire for as long as we operate StatementCheap. If we ever decide to shut the service down, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email so you can use your remaining pages.

Subscriptions

  • Monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, using the payment method on file, until you cancel.
  • Each plan includes a monthly page allowance, also on annual billing. Unused pages from one month do not carry over to the next.
  • You can cancel anytime from the billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
  • If a renewal payment fails, we may pause paid features until the payment goes through.

Failed conversions

A conversion that fails is not charged.

Price changes

We may change our prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for. If the price of your subscription changes, we will tell you by email before the new price applies at your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you want to.

6. Refunds

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms. In short: unused page packs and recent subscription charges can be refunded within set limits, and if a conversion is wrong and we can't fix it, we refund those pages. Nothing in these terms limits refund rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use StatementCheap only for lawful purposes. In particular:

  • Only upload documents you are authorized to process. That means your own statements, statements a client or employer has asked you to work on, or documents you have obtained lawfully, for example in a legal case. You are responsible for having any consent or legal basis needed to process the personal data in them.
  • Don't use the service to create, alter or forge statements or other financial records, or to support fraud, money laundering, identity theft or any other unlawful activity.
  • Don't upload files that contain malware or are built to harm or overload our systems.
  • Don't scrape the site, reverse engineer or copy the service, probe or test its security, or access it with bots or scripts in ways that put unusual load on it.
  • Don't try to get around page limits or the free allowance, for example by using many devices, browsers or accounts, or by clearing cookies to reset it.
  • Don't resell or provide access to the service to others as your own product without our written permission. Using it to do work for your own clients is fine.

8. Your documents and data

You keep all rights to the files you upload and the data we return to you. You give us a limited permission to process your files only as needed to provide the conversion you asked for, including sending them to our AI provider for extraction.

We do not store your statement files, and the converted rows are sent back to your browser and not kept on our servers. That means we can't recover a file or a conversion for you later, so save your downloads. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do keep and why.

9. Accuracy and your responsibility

AI extraction is good, but it is not perfect. It can misread a digit, a date or a sign, merge or split a line, or miss a row. Scanned and photographed statements are more likely to have errors than PDFs downloaded from online banking.

  • We check each conversion against the opening and closing balances on the statement and flag rows where the running balance doesn't follow. These checks catch many errors, but they are not a guarantee. For example, two errors can cancel each other out, and a wrong date or description doesn't change the totals. Some statements don't print the balances we need, and then we can't run the check.
  • You are responsible for reviewing the output before you rely on it for bookkeeping, tax filings, loan decisions, court filings or anything else that matters. Keep the original statement as your source of truth.
  • StatementCheap is a conversion tool. Nothing on the site or in the output is financial, tax, accounting or legal advice.

10. Third-party services

We rely on other companies to run StatementCheap, including Cloudflare (hosting and AI extraction through Workers AI), Stripe (payments) and Resend (email). Their services are covered by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their outages or actions, although we choose them carefully.

QuickBooks, Xero, Excel and other product names are trademarks of their owners. StatementCheap is not affiliated with or endorsed by them or by any bank. Whether a file imports into a particular program can depend on that program's settings and version.

11. No warranties

We work hard to keep StatementCheap accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every statement can be converted.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of StatementCheap, even if we were told they were possible.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the service or these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim, or (b) US $50.

Some places don't allow these limits. If that applies to you, the limits apply only as far as your local law permits.

13. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of documents you uploaded without authorization, or because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, including reasonable legal fees. This doesn't apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own fault.

14. Suspension and termination

  • You can stop using StatementCheap at any time. To close your account, send a request through the contact form from the email address on the account.
  • We may suspend or close an account, or block access, if you break these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, if a payment is reversed, or if the law requires it. Where it's reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first.
  • If we close your account for reasons other than a breach of these terms, we will refund the unused part of any plan or pack you prepaid.
  • Sections that by their nature should continue after termination (such as accuracy, warranties, liability, indemnity and governing law) keep applying.

15. Changes to the service and these terms

We may add, change or remove features over time. We may also update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will give notice on the site or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using StatementCheap after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using the service and cancel any subscription.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be settled informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Mexico, and both sides agree to those courts' jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this doesn't take away any mandatory protection or right to bring a claim locally that the law where you live gives you.

Before filing any claim, please contact us through the contact form and give us a chance to resolve it. Most problems can be fixed quickly.

17. General

  • These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about StatementCheap.
  • If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce a right right away, we don't give it up.
  • You may not transfer your account or these terms to someone else without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business, and these terms will continue to apply.
  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at our providers, network failures or natural disasters.
