How to download your Westpac statement as a PDF

In the Westpac app, search "Statements" with Smart Search, choose "Statements (incl. closed accounts)", pick the account and period and tap the share icon to save the PDF. In Online Banking, go to "Overview" and then "Statements", select the account and date range, click "Search" and then "Download PDF".

Can Westpac export Excel or CSV directly?

In Online Banking on a desktop, go to "Overview", select "Exports and reports" and, in the Transactions section, select "Export". Choose a date range, the accounts, a file format (CSV, QBO, QIF or OFX) and a date format. QBO and OFX are only available when you export a single account. In the Westpac App, a Smart Search for transactions report gives a Transactions Report instead: a PDF on Westpac letterhead for the last 30, 90 or 120 days, since your last statement, or a custom range of up to 12 months. Westpac's help says you can search up to three years of transaction history online; statements go back 7 years.

Tips for converting Westpac statements

Westpac keeps up to 7 years of eStatements, and the app includes statements for closed accounts, which helps when you need records from an account you no longer use.

What you get

  • Excel with real dates and numbers you can sort, filter and total, plus a summary sheet.
  • QuickBooks: a .qbo Web Connect file or the 3-column CSV for bank uploads. See PDF to QBO.
  • Xero CSV, OFX/QFX for Quicken and other tools, or plain CSV.
  • A reconciliation check: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance.

FAQ

Can I get Westpac statements older than 7 years?
Not online. Westpac keeps up to 7 years of statements in Online Banking and the Westpac App, including for closed accounts. For statements older than 7 years, Westpac says to call 13 20 32, or +612 9155 7700 from overseas.
Can I download statements for a closed joint Westpac account?
It depends on the account. Westpac says closed account statements for eligible savings and transaction accounts are only available to single account holders, not joint accounts. Closed home loan statements are available to single and joint holders, and closed card statements to the primary cardholder, including joint accounts. Closed Worldwide Wallet statements go back 13 months online.
Why does my Westpac statement cover six months?
Westpac's deposit account terms list statements for accounts such as Westpac Choice, Westpac Life and Westpac eSaver as 6 monthly, or more frequently on request. You can ask for more frequent statements by calling or visiting a branch. For activity since your last statement, the Transactions Report can cover that period as a PDF.
Can I convert Westpac statements to Excel?
Yes. Upload the PDF statement from Westpac and download an Excel, CSV, QBO, Xero or OFX file. The first 5 pages every day are free.
Does it work with Westpac credit card and business statements?
Yes. Checking, savings, business and credit card statements all work. The AI reads the layout, so it doesn't depend on a template.
How do I know the conversion is right?
Each result is checked against the statement: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the closing balance, and running balances are checked row by row.
Are my statements stored?
No. Files are processed in memory and the rows go straight back to your browser. We keep only metadata like the page count for billing.
