How to download your Halifax statement as a PDF

In the Halifax app, select the account, open the three-dot menu and choose "Download or print statement", then pick the statements you want. The download icon above your recent transactions also works. In Online Banking, open the account and select "Statement options" to print or download. For a credit card, Halifax says to download the PDF in the app or ask for one through online chat.

What a Halifax statement looks like

Halifax's credit card guide says the front page holds the account summary: minimum payment and due date, previous balance, payments received, and a summary of standard interest rates. The transaction pages list transactions, payments, fees and charges since the last statement, plus a breakdown of your balance and the interest rates that apply, with any promotional expiry dates. A summary box covers fees, charges and how payments are allocated. Once a year, around the account anniversary, the statement adds a 12-month summary of spending, repayments, interest and fees.

Tips for converting Halifax statements

Halifax has started closing its own app and online banking as the Halifax brand changes to Lloyds, and is moving customers to the Lloyds app, where your Halifax accounts and older documents carry over. Until then, Halifax says Online Banking holds statements up to seven years old and the app at least ten. For credit cards, download the full PDF rather than relying on the online statement summary.

What you get

  • Excel with real dates and numbers you can sort, filter and total, plus a summary sheet.
  • QuickBooks: a .qbo Web Connect file or the 3-column CSV for bank uploads. See PDF to QBO.
  • Xero CSV, OFX/QFX for Quicken and other tools, or plain CSV.
  • A reconciliation check: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance.

Converting a lot of statements every month? Plans start at $9/month for 500 pages.

FAQ

Where are my Halifax statements after moving to the Lloyds app?
Halifax says your old Halifax documents will be waiting in your inbox in the Lloyds app and online banking, and paperless credit card statements will be there too. If you don't move, you can't manage your accounts digitally, and paperless customers lose access to the online banking inbox.
Why can't I download a Halifax credit card statement in Online Banking?
Halifax's statement help says that for a credit card you need to ask for a PDF statement through online chat, or download the PDF in the app instead. Halifax's credit card guide says up to seven years of PDF statements are available online.
Will a downloaded Halifax statement work as proof of address?
Not always. Halifax's paper-free terms say online statements may not be accepted as proof of ID or address, as some companies want original paper statements. Halifax says the first paper copy is free for bank and savings accounts, while every paper copy of a credit card statement is charged.
Can I convert Halifax statements to Excel?
Yes. Upload the PDF statement from Halifax and download an Excel, CSV, QBO, Xero or OFX file. The first 5 pages every day are free.
Does it work with Halifax credit card and business statements?
Yes. Checking, savings, business and credit card statements all work. The AI reads the layout, so it doesn't depend on a template.
How do I know the conversion is right?
Each result is checked against the statement: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the closing balance, and running balances are checked row by row.
Are my statements stored?
No. Files are processed in memory and the rows go straight back to your browser. We keep only metadata like the page count for billing.
