How to download your Nationwide Building Society statement as a PDF
In the Internet Bank, choose the "Documents" tab, then "Statements", and under "View by account" select the account to download its statements as PDFs. Each statement downloads on its own, so repeat the steps for each month. In the Nationwide app, choose "Profile and settings" from the menu, then "My documents". Current account, savings and credit card statements are all kept there.
Can Nationwide Building Society export Excel or CSV directly?
Besides PDF statements, the Internet Bank lets you search and filter transactions from the last 15 months. For a current account, "Download transactions" then "Download midata" saves a midata file of 12 months of transactions, minus the most recent 31 days, with some details blanked out in certain transactions. It's Internet Bank only, not the app, and on an iPhone or iPad you can view the file but not save it. In the credit card statement archive, "Download transactions" lets you pick a format, though Nationwide's help doesn't list which. The PDF statements cover more: 36 months, including the latest month.
What a Nationwide Building Society statement looks like
Nationwide's guide says a current account statement shows your balance, the transactions in the statement period, your arranged overdraft limit, sort code, account number, IBAN and BIC. A "Notice of Charges" appears at the end if you've had arranged overdraft fees. Credit card statements carry an "Interest Summary Table" with your rates and any introductory or promotional offers. A credit card statement can list more than one card if your card number or card type changed or a card was reported lost or stolen. On mortgage statements, overpayments are bundled with the monthly payment.
Tips for converting Nationwide Building Society statements
Nationwide keeps 36 months of statements in the app and Internet Bank, but the transaction list only goes back 15 months. Nationwide doesn't post monthly statements for FlexDirect accounts, and it doesn't send one for a month with a zero balance and no transactions.
