How to download your Discover statement as a PDF
If your Discover card hasn't moved to Capital One yet, log in at discover.com or in the Discover app, find the statements section, open the month you need and save it as a PDF. Once your account has moved, it no longer shows on Discover.com or in the Discover app. Sign in on the Capital One website or app instead (Capital One's sign-in page for Discover cards is discover.capitalone.com), open the card and find its statements. Accounts move at different times, and Capital One contacts each cardholder when it's their turn.
What a Discover statement looks like
Discover's example statement opens with an "Account Summary" for the billing period (shown as 09/07/2024 - 10/06/2024): Previous Balance, Payments and Credits, Purchases, Balance Transfers, Cash Advances, Fees Charged and Interest Charged, then New Balance. The "Transactions" section lists "PAYMENTS AND CREDITS" and "PURCHASES" as separate groups, with a transaction date, a "MERCHANT CATEGORY" column for purchases, and the amount. Dates show month and day only, payments and credits carry a minus sign, and there is no running balance column. "Fees and Interest Charged" gives totals for the period and for the year to date, followed by the "Interest Charge Calculation".
Tips for converting Discover statements
Discover card statements list payments, purchases, fees and interest in separate sections. StatementCheap combines them into one list, with purchases as negative amounts and payments as positive, and checks the total against the previous and new balance.
