How to download your U.S. Bank statement as a PDF

In U.S. Bank online banking, select "Accounts" from the top menu, choose the document type, then pick the account from the dropdown and the year. In the U.S. Bank app, choose "Statements & docs" from the main menu and follow the same steps.

Can U.S. Bank export Excel or CSV directly?

U.S. Bank online banking lets you download up to three years of transaction history as a spreadsheet (.CSV), Quicken (.QFX) or QuickBooks (.qbo) file. Select the account, then the download icon in the upper-right corner of the "Transactions" tile, choose the date range and file format, and select "Download". Transaction downloads aren't available in the U.S. Bank Mobile App, and Money tracker data can't be downloaded. For anything older than three years, U.S. Bank points you to your statements, which go back up to seven years. The statement is also the document that carries the opening and closing balances the converter checks against.

What a U.S. Bank statement looks like

If you get paper statements and have more than one U.S. Bank account, U.S. Bank sends one combined statement, which can include deposit accounts, lines of credit, credit cards and overdraft protection. On a combined statement the primary account number is in the upper right corner of each page, and the other account numbers are to the right of each account's name. E-statements work differently: each checking, savings or money market account gets its own e-statement, and summary information for CDs, loans, credit cards and lines of credit no longer appears on it. A CD has no regular statements, only maturity notices and an end-of-year interest reporting statement.

Tips for converting U.S. Bank statements

Up to 7 years of statements are available online, so a full multi-year history is usually one sitting of downloads. When you pick the document type, choose statements rather than tax forms or notices.

What you get

  • Excel with real dates and numbers you can sort, filter and total, plus a summary sheet.
  • QuickBooks: a .qbo Web Connect file or the 3-column CSV for bank uploads. See PDF to QBO.
  • Xero CSV, OFX/QFX for Quicken and other tools, or plain CSV.
  • A reconciliation check: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance.

FAQ

Can I still get U.S. Bank e-statements after closing my account?
U.S. Bank says that once an account goes into pending closure status, you no longer have access to its e-statements, except for mortgage accounts, and recommends saving or printing statements before you start the closure. Credit card customers can still view statements online for closed accounts. For other closed accounts, U.S. Bank says to call 800-872-2657 for copies.
Why is there no U.S. Bank statement for some months?
U.S. Bank's deposit account agreement says it may skip a checking or savings statement for any period where service charges, fees, reversals, refunds or interest are the only transactions. When other activity happens, the next statement includes everything since the last one. Every account gets at least an annual statement.
Can I download a yearly summary of my U.S. Bank credit card?
Yes, in online banking but not in the U.S. Bank Mobile App. Choose the card, select the "Account" tab, then "Annual account summary" in the Services section, pick the timeframe and select "Download PDF". It shows annual and quarterly spending, a payment summary, returns and purchase activity, and applicable fees. New accounts need to complete one billing cycle before the first summary is created.
Can I convert U.S. Bank statements to Excel?
Yes. Upload the PDF statement from U.S. Bank and download an Excel, CSV, QBO, Xero or OFX file. The first 5 pages every day are free.
Does it work with U.S. Bank credit card and business statements?
Yes. Checking, savings, business and credit card statements all work. The AI reads the layout, so it doesn't depend on a template.
How do I know the conversion is right?
Each result is checked against the statement: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the closing balance, and running balances are checked row by row.
Are my statements stored?
No. Files are processed in memory and the rows go straight back to your browser. We keep only metadata like the page count for billing.
