How to download your PNC statement as a PDF

In PNC Online Banking, go to "Accounts", choose the account, open "Account Quick View" and select "Statements and Documents", then click "View PDF". In the PNC app, tap "More" in the bottom bar, then "Statements and Documents" and "Online statements", and choose the account and year.

Can PNC export Excel or CSV directly?

In PNC Online Banking you can export transactions as a .QFX file for Quicken or a .QBO file for QuickBooks, which PNC calls Web Connect. For PNC credit cards, PNC's help says you can export account activity into Quicken, QuickBooks, Microsoft Money or Microsoft Excel, but only up to 13 months of card history displays in Online Banking, while card statements go back 48 months. In our check, PNC's public pages don't say how far back a checking or savings export reaches. For older months, or when you need the official opening and closing balances, use the PDF statement.

What a PNC statement looks like

PNC's 2021 guide to reading its credit card statement numbers nine parts: "Payment Information", "Account Summary", "Credit Limit Information", "Payment Coupon", "Transactions and Fees", "Interest Charged", "YTD Totals", "Important Messages" and, on cards that earn rewards, "Rewards Summary". "Transactions and Fees" is a single chronological list of purchases, payments, credits, cash advances and fees, not separate sections. "Interest Charged" shows interest by balance type, such as purchase, cash advance or promotional, and "YTD Totals" gives interest and fees for the calendar year. On deposit statements, PNC says the average balance used for interest is labeled "Average collected balance for APYE".

Tips for converting PNC statements

PNC's online history varies by product: 7 years for checking, savings and some loans, 4 years for credit cards and 5 years for mortgage and home equity. Paperless settings are per account, so set each account you need.

What you get

  • Excel with real dates and numbers you can sort, filter and total, plus a summary sheet.
  • QuickBooks: a .qbo Web Connect file or the 3-column CSV for bank uploads. See PDF to QBO.
  • Xero CSV, OFX/QFX for Quicken and other tools, or plain CSV.
  • A reconciliation check: opening balance + money in − money out = closing balance.

FAQ

How often does PNC send Virtual Wallet statements?
PNC's Virtual Wallet terms say Spend and Reserve get a statement each month. The Growth account's statement is updated monthly if there are electronic transfers; otherwise it's delivered quarterly. PNC may send statements less often if an account is inactive, which it defines as no deposits or withdrawals for six months or more.
Can I still download PNC statements after closing an account?
Not always. PNC says online statement history may not be available for accounts that have been closed, so save the PDFs before you close a checking or savings account. Credit cards are different: PNC's card help says that if the account is open or closed with a balance, you have access to up to 48 months of statements in Online Banking.
Can I convert PNC statements to Excel?
Yes. Upload the PDF statement from PNC and download an Excel, CSV, QBO, Xero or OFX file. The first 5 pages every day are free.
Does it work with PNC credit card and business statements?
Yes. Checking, savings, business and credit card statements all work. The AI reads the layout, so it doesn't depend on a template.
How do I know the conversion is right?
Each result is checked against the statement: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the closing balance, and running balances are checked row by row.
Are my statements stored?
No. Files are processed in memory and the rows go straight back to your browser. We keep only metadata like the page count for billing.
